Single Orion Road

ORION is a standalone street light unit, which is self-contained and does not require a connection to an external source of electricity. The sun light reflects on the PV solar system and produces enough power to charge the internal battery system. After sunset, when the panels do not produce power, the battery automatically connects to the lamp. Three intervals of power are pre-programmed into the system: during the first interval the lamp will illuminate at 100% (evening time), then it will be reduced to 60% (night time) and increase back to 100% (at dawn).

All elements are contained within the casing, thereby allowing for the protection from environmental and vandalistic hazards. The unit is maintenance free and requires only the change of batteries every 3-4 years, and a lamp every 15 years.

Detailed comparison chart: High Pressure Sodium vs. LED Street Lights

Below you can find all the technical parameters of the High Pressure Sodium (HPS) versus the LED Street Lights, and the pro's and con's of both of these lights:

Comparison between LED lamps and HPS lamps

Annual saving:

HPS - 10 hr. per day X 365 days = 3650 hours LED - 8 hr. per day X 365 days = 2920 hours.

LED >> 5hr. X 100% + 5hr. X 60% = 8hr. (100%)
