Globe Light & Water System Inc. is owned by Globe International Holdings S.A. (“Globe”). Globe is a multinational Group of Companies which is engaged in a wide range of business activities throughout the world.
In addition to the Group's traditional business, which is land and property development, construction and infrastructure development, the Group has expanded its business to include oil and gas exploration, mining, industrial activities, high-tech, media and trading. Globe L&W’s unique street light fixture was developed in the last two years, based on the extensive experience of the Company founders on LED lightning. The idea was to provide a fixture, which has very low operating and maintenance costs, together with very low periodic maintenance requirements. The fixture that was designed requires a replacement of the battery every 2000 cycles (about 5 years) and replacement of the lamp every 15 or more years. Since the fixtures operate on a solar power, no electricity or costly electrical infrastructure is required. Furthermore, the physical installation is simple. After the erection of a 6m or 8m high pole, the light fixture is installed, and within 24 hours, following the initial charge of the battery, the fixture is ready to operate.
